| The Bradfordville Blues Club and Friends are producing the 2006 Heritage Blues Festival, January 13 through January 14, 2006. You can contact us by email, phone or fax if you'd like some more information about attending or sponsoring our festival. The Festival celebrates the colorful history of the blues and the rich heritage of the grounds. The property has been in the Henry family for many generations and has been the site of the family's 26th of December celebration and annual Emancipation Day Celebration for about 100 years. The bonfire under the live oaks has hosted musicians for decades and the Club served as an after hours gathering place for the famed Chitlin' Circuit blues players. A predominantly black baseball team, the CC Saints, played before crowds of thousands of people dating back to the 1930's and continuing until the 1980's. It is the perfect setting for a two day blues festival featuring many of the best blues acts in the region.
The Festival will provide you with an opportunity to be a part of this heritage andthe celebration of the freedoms for which the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood. The Festival has regularly drawn 2,000 to 3,000 people from all over the tri-state area, with a wide variety of food and craft vendors, activities for the kids, and RV and camping areas.
