The CCW big 1 year Anniversary Avalanche show was a huge success with a capacity
crowd on hand at Chubby's. To those of you who came but were unable to get inside
due to the capacity limits, we offer our deepest regrets and thank you dearly for
your support. We hope you will be back for our May 16th show, "Night of Championship"
show, but we do strongly suggest you get your tickets early for this one as we are
expecting another sellout crowd.
Avalanche was the appropriate title for this show, as a huge surprise at the end of
the show seemed to have caved in on all the work MJ and Blaze had done to re-instate
the fan favorite commissioner Meathead...more on that later. Probably the biggest
surprise of the night, was how well the G-UNIT performed...They came in and lived
up to the hype that their spokesman J-Dub has been preaching...while it is obvious
that they are gonna break some rules when necessary, they also displayed unlimited
talents and potential to be the tag team that could actually cause trouble for the
current champions, The Hell Raizers.
The Hell Raizers attention was actually caught by this dazzling performance, and the
Hell Raizers ran in to clear the ring as the Unit was doing a little unnecessary
showboating after their victory. Keep your eyes on the G-Unit folks, they are for real.
In other action, Blaze was able to retain his Championship Belt, with a win over the always
impressive Antonio Banks...This was a huge night for Blaze..(John Copassaki) as he was the
spokesman for the benefit show for cancer. Blaze has been doing battle with cancer himself,
and one this night he was under duress and the stresses of radiation treatments.
It had to be an unbelievable amount of pressure on The Blaze Man, as he went out and told of
his fight with cancer and what the show meant to him and many others in his condition. then
he would have to defend his belt against one of the toughest opponents he could possibly face.
As expected, Antonio took the action right o Blaze and kept the pressure on Antonio sensing
that Blaze was not 100% just wanted to keep the action at a high intense pace, figuring the
champion would wear down fast...for the most part, Antonio was right, he had Blaze reeling
on the ropes most of the match and it really looked like he was about to become champion when
out of nowhere Blaze came up with a huge countermove unexpectedly out of nowhere which caught
Mr. Banks totally off guard, and got the pinfall, to remain Champion. It was almost as if Blaze
took the strategy of playing possum, and hoping and just waiting for Mr. Banks to get careless
and, that is just what happened.
