Interview with: Marty Jannetty
By: Kara Productions
KP: Marty, it has been a long time that your fans see you in action on TV, my first question is : Are you still wrestling actually? And where?
MJ: yes still wrestling all over the world and parts of Georgia too. I am currently making my mainstay in Tallahassee Florida with the newest and hottest Independent promotion in the US called- Capital City Wrestling-CCW. It is the best. I am also involved with Body Slam University, which is located in Tallahassee also. It has the most reasonable rate for premier pro wrestling training and you will not find a better school. You can get more info on both of these places by calling 850-251-4349 or go to www.ccwtallahassee.com. CCW is also represented with such names as Dusty Rhodes, Brutus " The Barber " Beefcake, Marcus " Buff The Stuff" Bagwell, MJ-N-D-House (oops, that would be me) and talk of Sting coming aboard is pretty strong. Axis and Python are definitely one of the top tag teams in the US, Blaze ( John Copasaki is one of the best technical wrestlers in the industry and currently the CCW Heavyweight Champion, Rod "the Bod" Foyes and the " Juice " are 2 of the top 5 canidates for Rookie of the Year Awards and you will be seeing these guys for a long long time as they are the best and hottest new prospect to come along in the last 10 years. So as you can see, CCW is stacked and packed with talent, so I think I will be staying there for a long time.
KP: How long have you been in wrestling business?
MJ: This April (2004) will be 20 yearsooch, that hurt just to say that. Actually though, I dont feel as if I have been in the business a day over 19.5 years. There are some mornings, I just dont want to get out of bed due to the pain, but those are rare days. For the most part, I am up and ready and raring to go by 11:45 am. My cat "Mustafa" will not allow me to sleep in.
KP: Dont you ever regret becoming a wrestler?
MJ: Not a day in my life do I regret wrestling. I love it more than anything and will continue to wrestle until Terry Funk quits, and you know that aint gonna be any time soon.
KP: Do you hope to make a come back on the wwe?
MJ: I can not lie, of course I do, although I have not done much to persue or force the issue. A Rocker reunion would be a great way to come back, and I often am asked it I would do that. Yes, I would, but, would Shawn Michaels. You know if he wanted to, it would be done. I can still see one last run, and possible going againstumnevermindyou know who.
KP: Have you talked to the wwe about a come back?
MJ: I think I just answered that one but just in case I am wrongno, I havent. Do you think I should? Ok, fans and even enemies who would love to see me get my narrow ass kicked, write in the WWE.demand me..
KP: What do you think about Shawn Michaels actually?
MJ: Actually, I think he is one of the greatest students I ever taught.
KP: Are you still talking to him?
MJ: We talk on an average of once a year.
KP: What do you think about this idea : reunite the original Rockers? Or do you prefert to be against him? And why?
MJ: Again, I think I answered that one already, but..its all good, reunite, go against, or even go against another "New" Rocker.. Al Snow the possibilities are unlimited..
KP: What do you think about Al Snow?
MJ: Wow, you must be reading my mindAl is one of the coolest guys I ever met, a true friend and a greatpersonality. His wrestling abilities are top notch. I wish nothing but the best for Al, ..unless I have to wrestle him
KP: What do you think about the actual wwe and its actual evolution?
MJ: It is different, it is constantly changing, and change is always good. Doesnt mean we always got tounderstand the whys , but, just know its always gonna be around, and always gonna change, so at sometime or another, it will come to a style you will love..never give up on the entertainment value it gives usit will always have something, for everyone.
KP: What do you think about the fact Vince McMahon got the monopole on wrestling?
MJ: It sux, for the boyz ( as they have no options or leverage if they are not happy with the company) and for the fans ( there is nothing else to watch if you are a devouted wrestling fan, you have to take what it gives you) and for Vince himself..he has nothing to compare himself to or to push him, Vince is a competitor with a huge ego, he is at his best when his back is against the wall, but right now he only has himself to compete with, and it is too easy to find a comfort zone in that..for the sake of the wrestling industry, please some one start another major Company that will be televised nation wide..come on Hulk, Come on Macho Man..well, wait a sec, .if you guys can hold on for a little while longer..maybe a yearCCW Capital City Wrestling will save us all
KP: Actually who is your favorite wrestler in the wwe? And why?
MJ: I think Kurt Angle is one of the best I have ever seenhe is so smooth and works his ass off..and is very creative.. KP : Do you have some place and dates that your fans can see you in action soon?
KP: Do you have some place and dates that your fans can see you in action soon?
MJ: Yepthe place.." Earth " the dates.." forever" ..I will get more specific later..for now you cancheck at www.ccwtallahassee.com tell em MJ sent you
KP: Lastly Marty, I would like to thank you for this interview and wish you the best of luck for the future. Am sure all the fans are going to appreciate this interview.
MJ: Thanx a million..Ill just be Rockin and Rollin Struttin and Strollin from Austin to Boston from Maine to Spain, and all points inbetween. Takin care of business and havin good times
